How do I order my test?

Once your provider has placed your order through Athena, you will receive a message from one of our Care Managers with laboratory-related information, including the cost of your test. 


Once your Financial Responsibility form has been completed, please confirm in the message, and our team will place your order through Genova Diagnostics.



How long does it take for my test kit to be delivered?

It can take up to 7-10 business days for your test kit to arrive from Genova Diagnostics via FedEx. Please note that orders placed on Friday may only process for shipment until the next business day, Monday. on



Do I need to prepare for my test before collection?

Some tests do require preparation before collection. You can find the most popular tests and how to prepare by clicking the link below:

What if I need help with my collection?

You may reach out to one of our Care Team managers for questions related to collection, and they would be happy to help to the best of their ability.



I have a blood test; where do I go to get my blood drawn?

You can contact https://www.anylabtestnow.com/locations/, your local hospital, or a mobile phlebotomy company in your area to arrange a blood draw. Please ensure the phlebotomist is familiar with Genova kits and the appropriate processing.



Do I need to fast before my blood draw?

It is recommended to fast for 10-12 hours before your blood draw. Please notify your provider if this is not feasible. 



Can you run this test through insurance?

Index Health is not able to apply insurance to your test. However, we strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider to confirm if they will cover testing before ordering. If so, we can provide you with a Superbill receipt once the test has been completed that you may use towards your claim.



What if I lost my test kit?
Please let us know; we would be happy to re-order a new kit for you at no additional charge.



How long does it take for results?

Genova Diagnostics tests can take up to 21 days to complete. Once your samples have been shipped back to their facility, you may reach out to us, and our care team will be happy to provide you with an ETA on when the test will be completed.
